Trekking Through U.S. National Parks

The "TREKKING THROUGH U.S. NATIONAL PARKS" expedition began not as a marketing brief, but as a rigorous field laboratory. Over several months, we executed a continuous physical traversal of the U.S. protected landscapes from desert canyons to old-growth forests. By interviewing frontline rangers, scientists, and the public, we investigated how visual storytelling could effectively reconstruct the public's relationship with the living world and examined advanced models of ecological management.

Operating prior to the algorithmic short-video era, the expedition delivered absolute data validation. Breaking technological and geographical barriers, we engineered China's first-ever wilderness live-broadcast directly from the U.S. National Parks, commanding an unprecedented 1 million concurrent viewers in real-time. The expedition’s long-form visual narratives generated massive digital leverage: 59.8 million social media reads, 16.6 million video portal views, and over 307,000 direct engagements across major Chinese platforms. Driven by this structural success, the USA Tourism Bureau (GOUSA) conferred upon my business partner and lead cinematographer, Chase Dong, the exclusive title of Official Brand Ambassador—the sole individual to receive this definitive credential.

Crucially, this massive cross-border mobilization served as our ultimate proof of concept. It proved that uncompromising, high-quality ecological narratives possessed immense social and market leverage. Rather than monetizing this traffic through conventional influencer campaigns, Chase and I strategically capitalized on this momentum to found our agency, ANOTHER_, in 2017. We institutionalized our methodology, permanently pivoting from consumer-facing travelogues to a research-driven cultural agency focused on broader sustainable development. This sets the foundational framework for all our subsequent frontier operations, from the Sanjiangyuan expeditions to the deployment of our modular, physical mobile ecological museum, the Variark initiative.
